Apple has been a big supporter of HTML5, it also ditched the support of flash in iPad because the new HTML5 features allowed them to do that same thing. The company has released a new HTML5 showcase which shows what a new-age browser with HTML5 support is capable to do without the need of any plugins or flash. The showcase only runs on the latest version of Safari, which is a bit obvious. Here are some screenshots from that:

Impressive, right? You may check out some more demos here. Apple has also released a page showing iPad compatible websites (most of them supporting HTML5 video feature as flash is not present in iPad).
