Convert your Categories into Subdomains in WordPress!

This one is a cool SEO trick that is easy to implement but has far reaching consequences!  To cut the long story short, you can convert your categories into subdomains. For example, you can change abc.com/category/internet to internet.abc.com! Moreover, you can set different themes for different categories! Here is how you can do it:

  1. Just install the WP Subdomains plugin like any other plugin.
  2. You will have to be a bit patient as the changes take time which depends on your hosting.

Some points to note:

  1. Check with your host if they provide subdomains. Most shared hosting services do provide that. This may be a problem if you are on a cloud hosting service.
  2. You will need to create a subdomain name same as your category slug.
  3. If you plan to change your host soon do not install this as will create a lot of broken links in google.
  4. No need to worry about the bad links it can create as all your previous articles will redirect to the new url.

All in all, this is one great plugin which can definitely change your google footprint in days!  :-)
